OUR HISTORY
of the COGIC Academy
The Church of God in Christ Academy of Greater North Carolina Jurisdiction, which is an alliance of the C. H. Mason Jurisdiction Institutes of the Churches of God in Christ Worldwide, was founded as a part of the vision of the Jurisdictional Prelate, Bishop LeRoy Jackson Woolard. The mission of the Church of God in Christ Academy is to magnify God by providing biblical, theological, and practical training for all laypersons and credential holders within the jurisdictions, districts, andcongregations. The academic material is designed to serve persons who are pursuing licensure, ordination, and professional developement. Courses are tailored to meet the needs of persons irrespective of educational level. The Church of God in Christ Academy has an open door policy; all students are welcome, even from other reformations and faith.
The Academy has been in operation since 1992 and graduated its first class in August 1994. The Church of God in Christ Academy has trained, equipped, and graduated over 300 ministers and missionairies since its inception. Many of these graduates are now pastoring churches, missionairies, evangelists, district, and jurisdictional officials, i.e. district missionairies, ad jurisdictional chair ladies. The Church of God in Christ Academy operates on the semester system and hold classes normally one Saturday out of each month, thus making it convenient for just about anyone to attend; however, there are three months that the Church of God in Christ Academy does meet two times during the month. Student is informed at their time of admission all the dates and times classes meet for the remainder of the calendar year
